Wunderman Thompson's New Brand Built to Inspire Growth
Posted on February 05, 2019

Following the announcement back in Novemebr 2018 of the merge of J.Walter Thompson with Wunderman, both a WPP agency, today Wunderman Thompson has launched its new brand, one that is said to reflect the ethos of who Wunderman Thompson is as an agency.
The new branded agency will be distinctively positioned as a provider of end-to-end solutions—through creative, data, commerce, consulting, and technology services—at a global scale.
The new brand, created by Landor, a global leader in brand consulting and design showcases that growth is a force of good and all growth starts with inspiration. Wunderman Thompson believes that inspiring growth takes three things: 1) See the world differently and reject conventional thinking; 2) Unbounded creativity to rethink business, culture and brand experiences; 3) Act decisively and accountably end-to-end.
“Wunderman Thompson is a formidable combination, bringing together the capabilities our clients are demanding—creativity alongside deep expertise in technology, data, and commerce—in a single organisation. It’s great news for our clients that we can combine the best of JWT and Wunderman in a single agency, and it’s great news for WPP as it allows us to compete more effectively in the sectors with the most significant opportunities for future growth,” said Mark Read, CEO, WPP.
The newly formed agency will be led by global CEO Mel Edwards, currently the global CEO of Wunderman. Tamara Ingram, CEO of J. Walter Thompson, will become chairman of the new company.
