Four professionals from the Luum Awards’ communications and marketing team traveled to San José del Guaviare to lead workshops for associations and small business owners from the Guaviare community, in collaboration with the WWF, PNUD and GEF Corazón de la Amazonia. Located in the Amazon, Guaviare is a strategic area for jaguar conservation efforts.
On September 20th and 21st, the Luum team lead workshops on digital marketing and advertising for locals developing business and leading efforts to protect the Amazon rainforest.
These advertising and strategy workshops sought to provide entrepreneurs with tools to promote their business initiatives, which have not only stimulated the regional economy, but also contributed to efforts to counter the leading causes of deforestation.
It should be noted that the Luum Awards announced it will reinvest the costs of printed materials and decorations from future award ceremonies in travel and logistics for various workshops with communities such as Guaviare.
Additionally, the awards dinner will be limited to a list of just a few select guests in Geneva, Switzerland, so that funds can be invested into future initiatives designed to provide Guaviare’s inhabitants with the skills they need to activate the regional economy and to protect the Amazon.
The Luum Awards will be celebrating its third edition in November 2023, consolidating its standing as the first global advertising festival to highlight creative communications aimed at rousing social, civic or environmental awareness, in an effort to contribute to making the world a better place. The awards festival honors those who use their creativity and talent to generate positive change in society and the environment.
