Cairo Design Week Sets Stage for Biggest Edition Yet

Cairo is gearing up for its largest creative gathering as Cairo Design Week (CDW) announces its return from November 20–29, 2025. Now in its fourth year, the event has quickly positioned the Egyptian capital as a rising hub on the global design circuit.

Since its launch in 2022, CDW has brought together hundreds of designers, brands, and institutions.

Last year’s edition drew more than 100 designers, 150 exhibitors, and 80 speakers.

This year, organizers promise an even broader program spread across three design districts—set to be revealed soon—transforming Cairo into an open-air showcase of installations, exhibitions, talks, and activations.

“Cairo Design Week has grown into more than just a platform—it’s a movement,” said founder Hisham Mahdy

“For 2025, our aim is to build on last year’s momentum, placing Egyptian talent alongside global innovators while keeping design open and accessible to all.”

The 2025 edition will also debut the CDW Universities Initiative, designed to give students and emerging talents visibility, industry recognition, and access to international networks.

In line with its inclusive vision, the event isn’t limited to industry insiders: ticketed programming will open to the wider public on September 25.

The 10-day celebration will conclude with the 7th Cairo Design Awards, recognizing the most significant contributions to Egypt’s design scene and beyond.

Applications are now open for designers, brands, and agencies worldwide via CDW’s official website and social channels.

Cairo has long been a cultural heavyweight, but CDW’s rapid growth signals something more strategic: Egypt is positioning itself as a global player in design, in the same conversation as Milan, London, and Dubai.

With its scale and mix of heritage and forward-thinking, CDW is shaping up to be a contender on the world stage.
