Here is a new campaign from Adidas celebrating the 120-year old football club Real Madrid, which also pays tribute to the Grandeza spirit that unites their fans.
adidas Paris released “Odyssée Grandeza”, a unique 3’30” film that pays tribute to the legendary football club, Real Madrid and its 120 year-long legacy.
Created by one of Paris's leading independent agencies, MNSTR, the film is styled after Japanese anime, increasingly another growing cultural passion for fans of football.
Inspired by manga, the film focuses on French footballer Karim Benzema with many nods fans will recognize referencing the club’s legends, goals, and jerseys—an ambitious storytelling to connect the brand to its audience through culture.
The film features three teenagers who must draw upon this communal spirit, incarnated by the French favorite striker Karim Benzema, as they find themselves playing a match against supernatural forces in the club’s historic stadium, Santiago Bernabéu.
The three friends, Sarah, Moussa and Ruben, are inseparable on and off the pitch. They see their destiny change when a disturbing rumor leads them to a mysterious barbershop.
After being thrown into a parallel universe, our three heroes will have to overcome their fears. Inspired by their idols, they will have to defeat evil forces in the most important match of their lives.
A journey of initiation, the film celebrates the mindset that drives the club that has led to so many victories, by drawing upon another cultural phenomenon for today’s youth and sports enthusiasts, Japanese manga.
By bringing together these cultural passions, the film takes the odyssey to a new level, showing how epic the Grandeza spirit is.
