Alexander Wang designed a bag that looks identical to McDonald’s iconic paper take-out bags.

In less than 4 hours, McDonald’s Saudi Arabia, through its agency Leo Burnett, posted to their Instagram page, in the exact same style as Wang’s post. And of course, they tagged him in front of all his followers, with a statement that says it all: "@Alexaderwang, we did it first."

The post got the attention of the Saudi fashion scene and soon it turned into a trend, picked up by fashion influencers and concept stores.

After that’s how McDonald’s reclaimed its spot as THE most iconic brand, so iconic that Alexander Wang got inspired some more and went on to collaborate with McDonald’s to launch a whole collection called 'I’m Wangin’ it'.

And that’s how one parody post turned McDonald’s into a fashion movement.
