Former Vice President for new media at AWI Alwaseet international media group, Marwan Dimas will be embarking, in the near future, on a new path he set for himself. Giddy as a school boy on the first day of summer, Marwan has a talent for swaying to the tunes life throws his way, and is relentless in his pursuits to making the world a truly better place for all.

What kills you most?

Seeing men surrender to their fate.

What gets you up in the morning?

The newspaper, in the most fundamental sense!

What happened to your childhood dreams?

I realised some already and am working on the rest. On a separate note, I went to an amusement park and played at the “manege” last month in Kuwait and the experience was great.

What distinguishes you from others?

I like to think that I inspire people around me. I continuously strive to make a change in people’s lives and sometimes, I succeed.

What do you need most?

I need assurance that it is safe to walk on the edge.

Do you think that anyone can become an artist?

No absolutely not. It has to come with a set of character traits.

Where are you from?

Middle East – 'Bilad el Sham'.

Do you feel your situation is enviable?

Yes it sure is, as I am enjoying a full life with plenty of everything.

What have you given up on?

Religion, but I reserve my natural right to change my mind as he is merciful, or so it is said.

What do you do with your money?

Use it to make myself and others happy.

What moves you?

A beat, a beat in everything around us moves me.

What are your favourite pleasures?

I actually have a lot of pleasures, but my favourite is playing, I just love it.

Name three living artists that you hate most?

I don’t hate artists.

What or whom do you defend?

I defend the right to think freely and express one self.

What are you capable of refusing?

I am capable of refusing doing anything I am not convinced off. I already have refused a lot. Saying NO is a skill we all ought to learn.

What are you capable of doing in the name of love?

Giving, giving a lot, love is about giving and making a change.

What are you blamed for?

Uncontrolled angry reactions. Haven’t managed to get this right yet!

What does art bring to you?

Challenge to the mind, journey, play.

Rene Magritte, I wish.

What drives you nuts?

Indifference.

He will always be remembered for his warm smile that comforted the anxious and a strong arm that protected the weak.

Lion.

‘Decision Points’ by George W. Bush, unfortunately so.

Do you like animals?

Not especially.

Why did you choose your field?

I like media, community, communication, and politics. I am also good at sales.

Lady Gaga.

What is your philosophy in life?

Good always prevails.

What gift would you like to receive for your birthday?

The love of my wife and daughters in the form of flowers.

What is the most important thing in your life?

Playing and laughing.
