Man’s inhumanity to man.

What gets you up in the morning?

A very loud alarm clock and several cups of coffee.

What happened to your childhood dreams?

Hung up my football boots for good now, so I guess I moved on to my adult dreams, and that’s a work in progress.

What distinguishes you from others?

Judging by my last flight, I am one of the few people on Earth who doesn’t think it’s fair to recline his seat in coach.

What do you need most?

Right now, to sign-off on the latest budget.

Do you think that anyone can become an artist?

I think artistry comes from all walks of life, but artists need a spark of creativity that some of us lack.

Where are you from?

A small town near Newcastle, in the North of England

Do you feel your situation is enviable?

Envy is a dangerous emotion, so I hope not.

What have you given up on?

Intelligent life on Mars.

What do you do with your money?

I give it to my wife for immediate disposal.

What moves you?

Innovation, ideas that bring people closer together.

What are your favourite pleasures?

Friends, family, food and good conversation.

What would you like to receive for your birthday?

Another 10 years added to my life.

Name three living artists that you hate most?

There are plenty of artists whose work I don’t personally like, but none that I could bring myself to hate.

What or whom do you defend?

The underdog.

What are you capable of refusing?

I refuse to give up.

What are you capable of doing in the name of love?

To paraphrase Meatloaf, anything, but I won’t do that.

Being too trusting.

What does art bring to you?

A new perspective.

Who do you think you are?

I am whatever people think I am, plus a little more.

Bad driving

I came, I saw, I tweeted.

A fly on the wall. They always hear the best gossip.

It seemed like the most interesting way to spend the majority of my life, and I’m glad to say that so far, I’m happy with that decision.

Who is the woman of your dreams?

Any woman who would put up with me.

What is your philosophy in life?

Do good to others and they will do good to you.

What is the most important thing in your life?

Other people.

Talk to an alien – draw an alien.

I’d ask them why they always choose to abduct the least reliable people, and advise them to go for a celebrity next time.
