Zalfa Bouez: "Always Ready to Help"

Born in Zahle and mother of four, Zalfa Bouez, at an early age, was interested in music, culture and social development. Married to former Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Environment Fares Bouez, Zalfa Bouez’s involvement in social and cultural projects focused on children and music.?In 1993, she founded and headed the “Committee for Child Development” in Kesrewan followed by the founding of the “Zouk Mikael International Festival in 2003. As president of the festival, Bouez was instrumental in the introduction of the “Children’s Cultural & Music Exposure Programme,” which invites children from a wide cross section of society to introduce them to the various types of music being hosted by the festival while at the same time giving them an opportunity to meet the artists behind the music.
