Bigsea and Marushika Speak the Language of Patterns, Turning Fashion Into a State of Mind

Marushika, the fashion brand known for fusing Indian folk art with modern Western silhouettes, has unveiled its latest campaign, “Spoken Patterns”, for the Autumn/Winter 2025 collection.
In collaboration with creative production house Bigsea, the brand brings to life the philosophy that has shaped its identity — artistry, authenticity, and individuality.

At the core of Marushika’s vision lies the idea that patterns are not only visual but deeply human. This insight anchors the new campaign, which connects the intricacies of Marushika’s garments with the intangible patterns that define us — our hearts, minds, and souls.

The brand’s Founder and Creative Director, Manisha Verma, explains:“Spoken Patterns reflects our belief that fashion is not only about what is seen, but also about what is felt. Each Marushika piece is crafted as an expression of individuality, an intersection of heritage and modernity that allows women to embrace both who they are and where they come from. For us, patterns are a language of authenticity, and through this campaign, we translate that language into wearable art.”

The campaign marks another milestone for Bigsea, the Dubai-based creative production house behind several high-profile projects across the Middle East.

Known for its cinematic approach and bold storytelling, Bigsea helped translate Marushika’s brand pillars into a narrative that feels both intimate and universal.

Serge Asaad, Creative Director at Bigsea, says: “The question was, how do we turn our visual concept into a bold, editorial story? We knew it had to be edgy, but classy. The narrative had to be unapologetic and relevant to women across the world. The subtle parallelism here gives plenty for the viewer to dissect and dig into. Simple, impactful, and as deep as you decide it to be.”

Directed by Mazen Abusrour, the hero film unfolds in a minimalist set where a woman serves as a narrator. Her calm observations guide viewers through a series of moments in which Marushika’s models seamlessly blend into their surroundings, garments, and emotions. The pattern she points out wears the protagonists — a metaphor for how it surrounds us, often unnoticed.

Each 15-second spot draws a parallel between the visual patterns of the designs and the qualities of the wearer: The heart speaks patterns of kindness; The mind speaks patterns of strength; The soul speaks patterns of authenticity.

“Visually, I knew the striking contrast would define these films,” Abusrour adds. “From the moment I saw Marushika’s collection, the Madhubani art stood out and inspired my direction. We have two contrasting universes — the minimalist and the patterned. I wanted each viewer to have their own interpretation. Which world is metaphorical? And which one is real?”

The film’s measured pacing, cinematic lens, and subtle blending of set design and clothing reinforce the campaign’s central message: Marushika is more than fashion — it is wearable art that mirrors life itself.
Ultimately, these films empower the women who wear these patterns, inviting them to embrace both who they are and where they come from.

By weaving together craft, narrative, and philosophy, “Spoken Patterns” positions Marushika firmly as a Wearable Art Destination.

All in all, this campaign stands out for its restraint, purpose, and emotional depth — cinematic yet intimate. At ArabAd, we like this.
