Young talents from the Middle East have seen once again their creative ideas celebrated at the prestigious Clio awards.
Clio Sports, founded in 2014, honors the best in sports advertising and marketing around the world. Annually, marketing and creative executives from brands, agencies, media, teams and academies convene to select and celebrate the breakthrough communications that propel the industry forward, inspire a competitive marketplace of ideas and foster meaningful connections within the creative community.
This 2023 Clio Sports Bronze winning entry titled 'Skin Cancer Armours’ was entered for Under Armour brand by Bendita Carpeta, Santiago de Chile.
The work, comprised of one film and two visuals, was submitted to the Student Experiential category by a Colombian team led by Paula Zambrano, Senior Art Director at Cheil MEA and Daniela Romero, Senior Copywriter at TBWA RAAD, who are also students of the academy Bendita Carpeta.
The idea came out from the insight that people who exercise outdoors are highly exposed to the sun, increasing risk of skin cancer, which when detected early is treatable. However, very few people notice changes in their skin until it is too late. Therefore, they decided to create a personalised sportswear collection to prevent and detect skin cancer by tracking each person's unique moles, skin marks and outdoor workout behaviour so they can easily identify changes and, if necessary, consult the doctor. They set up 'Skin Mapping Stations' in stores to capture customers' moles and marks and they also incorporated these unique skin patterns into the sportswear collection with abstract and stylish designs.
Officials from Bendita Carpeta academy stated: "The young Latin-American talent is taking over the advertising festivals. This 2023 Bendita Carpeta, a virtual community for young talents, has witnessed the journey of many of them, including the Colombian team who has worked on this idea led by Paula Zambrano next to her partner Daniela Romero. They have achieved a metal in the Student Experiential for Clio Sports category, which makes us proud and keeps us celebrating."
This is the first metal for this category in the region during this year. and is worth a shoutout.
The 2023 Clio Sports Award Show will take place in December 6, in New York City.
