‘I Wish I Could’

Roger Halaby, CEO of Dubai-based the Hanging Gardens agency, asserts that when you hold a great idea, doors can’t but open to you — only if you know how to inject passion into the idea for it to see the light… Here is Halaby’s take on how to make great ideas happen and what is needed for your ’I wish I could’ to totally become ’Yes, I did it!’

Let's open up about something we've all said: "I wish I could."

You know, when you're scrolling through social media, seeing all those success stories, and thinking, "If only I had the money or the chance to make my big idea happen."

But wait a minute, is money or chance really the problem, or are we just making excuses?

Let's get real for a minute. How many times have you actually sat down and planned out your idea? Like, really planned it, figuring out who would want it, what makes it special, and how you would make it work.

If you are like most of the dreamers, probably not much, right?

Here's the reality: we often use the "no money" excuse to avoid doing the hard work. It is easier to say "I can't afford it" or “I haven’t got the chance to make it” than to admit we haven't really tried.

But here's a secret: a great idea with a solid plan can attract money and turn a chance into an opportunity.

People love supporting cool new things and invest in a promissing well planned project.

Now, let us also talk about something very important: telling people about your idea.

You might have the best idea ever, but if you can't get people excited about it, it won't go anywhere. That's where a lot of great ideas fail.

It's not just about having a good idea or product or service, it's about knowing how to make people want it, as David Ogilvy once said: “If it doesn't sell, it isn't creative”

I am sure you are a social media fanatic, scroll and think about all those success stories. They didn't just make something cool, they made sure everyone knew how cool it was.

That's the power of good marketing and making good use of social media platform to serve that idea in terms of awarness and enagegement.

So, it is time to get to work!

Start by really thinking about your idea. Who is it for? Why do they need it? What makes it special?

Then, think about how you will tell people about it. How will you make them care?

And guess what? Figuring all this out doesn't cost anything. It just takes time and effort. Maybe invite some friends and brainstorm over coffee. You would be surprised how much clearer things become once you do this.

Remember, every big success started as someone's crazy idea. The difference between those who made it and those who didn't often comes down to who was willing to do the work, and in getting others to love it and ask for it too.

It's also important to remember that failure is not the end, it is just the beginning. Every glitch is a chance to learn, to refine your idea, to make it even better.

Some of the most successful people in the world failed multiple times before they hit it big. The difference is that they didn't let those failures stop them. They used them as stepping stones to learn for reaching success.

The only person who can truly allow or prevent your dreams from happening is you.

No more excuses, no more "what if," or "someday." Your someday is today. Take that first step, then the next, and the next after that.

Before you know it, you will be running full speed towards your goals, with a world of possibilities opening up before you.

Your "I wish I could" can totally become "Yes, I did it!"

But it takes more than wishing. It takes planning, hard work, and knowing how to get people would be interested about your idea. Trust me, making it happen is half the fun!

Don’t wait or leave it at the mercy of the unknown. Your brilliant idea needs you to make it real. Who knows, your success might be the next one making someone else say, "I wish I could." But now you know the secret, if someone else like you made it, so can you! It is all up to you, no excuses, there is no other way!

Remember, every great journey begins with a single step. So take that step. Believe in yourself, believe in your idea, and most importantly, believe in your ability to make it happen. Because when you combine passion with persistence, dreams with determination, and ideas with action, there is no limit to what you can achieve.

Your "I wish I could" is waiting to become "I did." So go out there and make it happen!
