RFI România Expands Its Moldovan Footprint

RFI România is doubling down on Moldova with the launch of Moldova Zoom, a new daily 30-minute current affairs show airing weekdays at 10:15 am Chișinău time.

Hosted by journalist Lina Grâu, the programme mixes in-depth interviews, field reports, and analysis, tackling politics, economics, society, and the battle against disinformation.

The move comes with a digital push: a dedicated Moldova section on YouTube, expanded Facebook and TikTok content, and stronger editorial presence on RFI România’s website.

On the ground, correspondent Valeria Viţu coordinates a network of reporters across Moldova, with support from the Bucharest newsroom and in partnership with Deutsche Welle.

The expansion reinforces RFI România’s commitment to balanced, independent reporting in a region where reliable news is both crucial and contested.

In a media landscape full of noise, RFI’s bet is clear—zoom in on Moldova before someone else does.

Deutsche Welle, which also has Romanian-language production capabilities and correspondents based in Moldova. Video content and reports will be further enriched within the framework of this partnership in the coming weeks.

As with previous elections in Europe (Greece, Romania, Poland, Germany…), the legislative elections in Moldova will receive extensive coverage across France Médias Monde’s media outlets.

During the last week of September, RFI’s newsrooms in French and other foreign languages will be particularly mobilised. Correspondents, special envoys, and regional experts will produce reports, interviews, and insightful analysis to provide in-depth, on-the-ground insights.

Meanwhile, France 24 will cover the elections in English, French, Arabic, and Spanish, reporting from the voting process to the results, as well as producing reports that provide key insights into the issues at stake. Monte Carlo Doualiya, France Médias Monde’s Arabic-language radio, will also keep its listeners informed with comprehensive election coverage.
