The Best Gift Ever! Nurse overwhelmed by emotion as Jaber’s Oulo video made her year

Ali Jaber, the well-known TV personality and media figure, has filmed a heartfelt video that’s gone viral as he thanks the female Lebanese winner of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, who is fighting the COVID-19 outbreak with her colleagues. The video was filmed via celebrity-fan platform Oulo.com, where people can request personalized video messages from their favourite celebrities.  Sincere and charming, Jaber echoed the gratitude the region shares for those on the front line. The nurse was overcome with emotion watching the video not only for the kind words but also because Ali Jaber is her favourite celebrity – he was personally thanking her!

Jaber was one of the first celebrities to join Oulo.com, pledging to donate all the proceeds from his Oulos (celebrity videos recorded on Oulo.com) to charities and charitable initiatives. The platform already features over 50 of the region’s most loved and influential names from the worlds of TV, social media and music, including up-to-the-minute trending Ramadan stars. Oulos start from 20 USD and are anticipated to reach 500 USD per Oulo for some celebrities.

Ali Jaber said: “I am humbled by the courage and commitment of all frontline medical staff during this time of crisis. Watching the nurse’s reaction as she viewed the message was heartwarming – recording the video only took just a few seconds but her reaction and the joy it brought will last a long time.”

Kamal Nazha, Co-Founder of Oulo.com said: “In this digitally connected age where we are all social distancing, personalized video is a fantastic way to surprise and delight friends and family. We initially considered delaying our launch given the situation. However, the feedback we received from celebrities and users alike made us rethink. Many celebrities saw in us the perfect way to engage their fans while donating proceeds to support charitable initiatives they care about.”

More and more celebrities are joining the Oulo tribe. Trending now include a number of stars including Bassel Khaiat, Bader Saleh, NourAldin Yousuf, and Karen Wazen.
