CARMA, the media intelligence service provider and SOCIALEYEZ, a regional digital engagement agency, announced that its Founder and Group CEO, Mazen Nahawi, has been presented with the Chairperson’s Lifetime Achievement Award from the Middle East PR Association.

This prestigious accolade is a result of his vast contribution to the development of data-driven PR and digital management – and was presented to him during a glittering ceremony at the 2022 MEPRA Awards on December 8, 2022.

The Middle East PR Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an exclusive and influential group of individuals who have contributed in a major way to the advancement of best practices within the PR and communications industry.

As a visionary in the field of media intelligence, Nahawi has helped shape the region’s PR and communications industry by providing ground-breaking media monitoring support and evaluation programmes for his clients at CARMA, which includes over 3,500 brands and organisations across the world.

Furthermore, Nahawi has led the digital sphere with his agency SOCIALEYEZ who look to empower organisations to build more meaningful relationships with their target audience. The multiple, award-winning agency has offices in four countries and represents 120 clients across both the private and public sector.

Mazen Nahawi, Global CEO of CARMA and SOCIALEYEZ, said: “For well over a decade, I have been on a mission to help our clients better measure PR and become more tech-enabled, data-driven and connected communicators. My family, my teams at CARMA and the SOCIALEYEZ and our clients inspire me every day to strengthen our position as the lead media intelligence and digital engagement provider. I am grateful to be a part of this industry and honoured by the Middle East PR Association’s prestigious recognition, which I am delighted to share with my teams.”

MEPRA Chair, Kate Middtun, who presented the award concluded: "We are incredibly grateful for Mazen’s enduring commitment to purpose, continuity and integrity in our industry.”

Born and based in the UAE, Nahawi started his career in the media industry at the beginning of the internet revolution. Internet penetration at this time was below 50 per cent and after identifying a gap in the market, Nahawi shifted his focus from traditional communications towards digital, and PR media analytics. A pioneer in intelligence and analytics, Nahawi was the first individual to introduce a next generation portal to analyse and monitor all forms of media to enable stakeholders to make informative decisions which ultimately deliver on measurable and successful ROI.

Under his leadership, CARMA has grown exponentially over the years into an impressive and culturally diverse team of more than 500+ individuals with 19 offices across the globe including Dubai, London and Singapore. To date, CARMA has grown to work with over 3,500 brands and organisations worldwide including Aramco, Emirates, HSBC and Expo 2020.
