Sky News Arabia Academy, the training arm of Sky News Arabia and part of International Media Investments (IMI) group, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Press Agency during the 2024 Human Capability Initiative (HCI) event recently held at the King Abdulaziz Conference Centre.
Founded with the aim of supporting individuals across industries in developing their media, communications, presentation, and content creation skills, Sky News Arabia Academy delivers training programmes led by industry professionals from Sky News Arabia and the International Media Investments group including journalists, news presenters, and experts in content creation across TV, digital, and audio platforms.
The signing of the MoU was one of the highlights of this year's HCI, underscoring both parties’ commitment to bolstering the capabilities of media professionals in the region.
Ahmed Aal Rabeea, Director of Sky News Arabia Academy commented: “We are proud to sign this MoU with Saudi Press Agency, which shares Sky News Arabia’s vision for fostering the growth and development of the next generation of media professionals. Since the launch of the Academy, we have been committed to empowering journalists, content creators, and media professionals across the region by equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this dynamic industry. We look forward to celebrating with SPA the achievements of this partnership in the months to come.”
Over the past few months, the Academy has been striking partnerships with a variety of organisations across the Arab world to bring high-quality training opportunities and expertise to aspiring journalists and professionals from across the region, and bring tailored programmes that cater to local media landscapes and empower individuals to make meaningful contributions to their communities through impactful storytelling using the latest industry tools. This partnership marks the Academy’s first entry into the Saudi Arabian market.
The two entities will work together over the next three years to elevate SPA’s current training curriculums to address future challenges and new trends in media, as well as executing joint programs focused on media innovation and excellence and sharing insights and expertise to cultivate an environment of mutual growth and development.
