Credit Libanais Appoints Randa Bdeir as New Deputy General Manager

Credit Libanais has appointed Randa Bdeir as DGM, Head of Electronic Payment Solutions & Cards Technology.

With more than 25 years of experience in electronic payments and cards technology, Bdeir has led key strategic initiatives that have significantly advanced the electronic payments industry in Lebanon and the region and played a major role in hosting and developing innovative payment products in the Lebanese market including the e-commerce and the contactless & NFC technologies, to name but a few.

As a result, she received many awards in recognition of her accomplishments, both regionally and internationally. Most significantly, she became the first Arab woman to sit on the Board of Directors of MasterCard Worldwide for the SAMEA Region since year 2000 till present.

Bdeir was ranked among the top 70 Arab women. She was also elected as “MasterCard Champion” for having considerably contributed to MasterCard’s business growth. Moreover, she was recognized by the Arab Banking Conference as the best Arab woman contributor to the credit card payment system in the Arab world.

Bdeir holds a Master’s degree in Money and Banking from the American University of Beirut. She continuously thrives to update her knowledge and education related to various topics, including management, marketing, and technology by attending executive programs from renowned universities such as MIT and Stanford. She has also been a speaker at numerous regional conferences and events and has published a series of card and risk-related publications.

“This job at Credit Libanais will be my next challenge after having achieved a successful exit from the Electronic Payment Department at Bank Audi,“ said Bdeir.

She added: “I will join efforts with the whole team at Credit Libanais to reconfirm Credit Libanais’ leading position as number one electronic payment and solution provider by driving the core business, introducing innovative payment solutions and focusing on delivering best in class products and services, to address the local customers’ preferences and anticipated needs.”
