The Publicity Network (Publinet) has appointed Jamal Iqbal as its new Executive Creative Director. Following his nine-year career with the group in various capacities ranging from strategy and brand outreach to innovation, Jamal is now responsible for establishing creativity, new-age tactics and award-winning concepts as key tenets across Publinet’s companies.

Ahmad Itani, COO of Publinet, commented: “In an era where communication agencies are no longer limited by the media, dictated by briefs or measured by column inches, Jamal is setting ambitious new benchmarks for how the consultancies of tomorrow need to be shaped today. He is an integral part of Publinet’s growth and has driven our evolution into a think tank, a generator of loyalty and a hub of innovation over the past nine years. I know that with his stellar credentials, dedication to his clients and pride in his teams, he will support Publinet as we move decisively into the future, starting today as the agency of NOW.”

Jamal has been part of the communication industry for 19 years. Among a series of accolades won by the Publinet Group, Iqbal’s creative work enabled the team to be recognised at the Cannes Lions, Dubai Lynx, Lisbon International Advertising Festival and MEPRA Awards. With Publinet, his belief in activating brands and consumer dialogue via new-age methodologies has created leading campaigns including ‘Young Masseuse’ for the Community Development Authority, ‘Project Mahmoud’ for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and Deliveroo’s influencer activation with Max of Arabia.

Iqbal commented: “I have dedicated my career to Publinet for the best part of a decade, and going forward I will continue to work toward keeping us at the forefront of our industry by focusing on the future, which I believe lies in strategic creativity, bold innovation, pioneering new-age tactics and achieving unprecedented levels of consumer engagement. As Executive Creative Director for the group, I will continue to instil our teams with the confidence to envision the impossible and bring it to life for our clients.”

Iqbal’s creativity has driven recent campaigns including Publinet’s Guinness World Record-breaking activation for wasl Asset Management Group. As a tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Publinet flew the largest ever aerial projection screen across Dubai on 12th March 2018. The 300-foot screen displayed a ‘Year of Zayed 2018’ video and beat the previous New York record by 50 feet. To amplify the activation, Publinet developed a 360-degree campaign including an on-ground event hosted live by Virgin Radio, partnerships with six top influencers, media relations, a full-blown social media strategy, and even a UGC campaign platform. Fulfilling Publinet’s promise to deliver measurable results, the campaign achieved a total reach of 82,917,338 in just three days.

Established in 1999 and headquartered in Dubai, Publinet stands as the first and only locally grown network of communication specialists operating independently as well as in sync with each other across the MENA region and beyond.
