Fifteen creative teams, representing fifteen cities will soon arrive in Pattaya, Thailand to take part in the first live Young Lotus Workshop at ADFEST for four years, this year hosted for the first time by Ogilvy Asia-Pacific.
The Young Lotus teams will first enjoy a series of talks and workshops led by Ogilvy Asia-Pacific’s creative, strategy and planning leaders. Next, they’ll receive a real brief for real client – with just 24 hours to meet the deadline.
Andy Chu, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy Thailand, is joining Ogilvy’s group of mentors. He comments, “The workshop will be a unique opportunity for Young Lotus teams not only to get an insider’s perspective of Ogilvy’s point of view on Borderless Creativity, but will also get to learn a few tips and tricks of the trade that each of the speakers would be sharing based on their personal experiences.
“While all of the topics from each speaker will be somehow connected to an aspect of Borderless Creativity, they will also be quite different to each other, thus each of them contributing to a broader range of insights to ensure that each creative individual would gain something beneficial at the end of the workshop.
“What makes those valuable insights even more special is that they wouldn’t be found in any textbooks nor would they be taught in any other conventional advertising classes, but I believe they would, at a certain point throughout a young creative’s career, become very handy or even be the unfair advantage that could separate them from the competition.”
The Young Lotus finalist teams will present their work on stage during ADFEST 2023 on Saturday 25 March at 11.50-13.00 at the “Ogilvy Asia-Pacific Presents Young Lotus Workshop 2023: Ogilvy X Borderless Creativity” session hosted by Kent Wertime, Co-CEO of Ogilvy Asia-Pacific, and Co-Chairman of the Young Lotus Workshop 2023 and Sarah Leith Izzard, Regional Executive Creative Director of Ogilvy Asia-Pacific. Afterwards, delegates will have the chance to vote for their favourite team to determine the Young Lotus Popular Vote.
The winners of both the Young Lotus and the Popular Vote will be revealed at the ADFEST Lotus Awards on Saturday 25 March at 18.00.
The Young Lotus Workshop is one of the industry’s longest-running mentoring programs designed to give the next generation of advertising leaders hands-on, practical experience. The program is open to advertising professionals aged 30 & under, with teams selected by local representatives in markets across the region. And for the first time ever, the Young Lotus Workshop welcomes a team from Vientiane.
