Due to the continuing disruption from the Covid-19 pandemic, ADFEST has with regret made the decision not to hold its annual four-day festival that was previously scheduled to take place in Pattaya, Thailand from 17-20 March 2021.
Vinit Suraphongchai, Chairman of ADFEST, says, “In light of the current situation, we understand that it is neither safe nor financially viable for our industry at this time to be physically attending creative festivals. We miss our dear friends and wish we could welcome you in tropical Pattaya next March. There will be a time for that, but the time is simply not now. Our thoughts are with everyone in the industry and we will overcome this hardship together.”
ADFEST is committed to being one of the industry’s regional benchmarks for creativity and is organising separate virtual awards ceremonies for both its 2020 & 2021 Lotus Awards. The exact date of the Awards ceremonies will be announced in the very near future as ADFEST is now calling for entries for its 2021 Lotus Awards.
Jimmy Lam, President of ADFEST notes, “We have some exciting ideas that we are developing around the Lotus Awards and we can announce one immediately. With the continuing challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, ADFEST is introducing a new sub-category for all Lotus Awards categories, called Resilience Through Creativity, to reward the best creative ideas that demonstrate the strength of the human spirit in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
The Resilience through Creativity Award reinforces the notion that in spite of the unprecedented ways in which the pandemic has up-ended our sense of normalcy, creativity can strive to find a way through against all odds.
Suraphongchai adds, “We are humbled by the heartfelt support and return to all our most sincere gratitude. We are all facing these challenges together. On behalf of ADFEST, our hearts go out to you all and we look forward to seeing your familiar faces again in 2022.”
