Samsung Gulf Electronics announced the winners of the UAE themed Bespoke Refrigerator contest, #InspiredbytheNation at the iconic Dubai Mall Samsung Store.
The competition was part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to enrich a truly one-of-a-kind home experience by putting the power of personalization in consumers’ hands and opening the door to creatives to express their passion and unlock their artistic selves.
For the first prize, Fatima Baobaid won a trip to the capital of design for three days, to Milan, Italy. Her designs are set to be displayed in key retail stores throughout the UAE. Baobaid also won two units of the Bespoke Refrigerator.
Burcin Arabul, Director of Home Appliances at Samsung Gulf Electronics, said, “Our competitions always aim to bring our brand closer to the needs of consumers. ‘Inspired by the Nation’ holds the added quality of bridging the culture of the UAE nation with Samsung’s Bespoke designs, which offer enhanced modularity that seamlessly integrate into every home. The judges had a very difficult task at hand choosing among more than 150 contestants whose designs celebrate the UAE landscape, food, architecture and diversity.”
Winning the second place is Mihaela Nina whose design will be featured alongside the first prize winner in a selection of key retail stores across the UAE. Mihaela will also take home two units of Bespoke Refrigerators.
The contest was assessed by three renowned influencers, selected for their exceptional expertise in food, lifestyle, art and design.
Judges included Jacob Abrian, Nisrine EL Lababidi and Chef Alexandros Sperxos who shortlisted three winners out of 155 entries for their outstanding UAE themed Bespoke designs.
The selection was based on the overall quality of the design approach, how expressive is the design, the design modularity, the use of colors, patterns to blend with bespoke configuration and the harmonization with the contest theme #InspiredbytheNation.
